Description
Adson T.C
The T.C in this name stands for tungsten carbide, and that is what separates these from our plain Adson pattern. Each pair of tungsten carbide adson forceps has cross serration on the jaws, a hatched grip pattern that holds in several directions at once. Five catalogue versions are offered here, four at 12 cm (5 inches) and one at 15 cm (6 inches). So the main decisions are tip style and reach.
Reading the Five T.C Options
- 12 cm, 5″ cross serration: the base T.C Adson without teeth
- 12 cm, 5″ Dressing, cross serration: the dressing row from the same catalogue page
- 12 cm, 5″ cross serration, 1:2 Teeth: adds a rat-tooth bite at the tip
- 12 cm, 5″ Tissue, cross serration, 1:2 Teeth: the tissue row of the toothed version
- 15.0 cm, 6″ cross serration, 1:2 Teeth: the longer toothed model
Why Two Similar 12 cm Rows Exist
The supplier catalogue prints the plain and Dressing rows separately, and likewise the toothed and Tissue rows. However, it gives no further detail on how each pair differs. For that reason we list all five exactly as printed. Compare the option photos side by side, then pick the jaw that matches the pair you already trust.
When to Pick Teeth or Plain Serration
Plain cross serration suits sutures, dressings and thin mucosa, because it grips without puncturing. In contrast, a 1:2 toothed tip anchors a full thickness flap while you pass the needle. The 12 cm length keeps your hand close for anterior work. Meanwhile, the 15 cm model helps in the posterior mouth or on larger surgical fields.
Before dispatch, each T.C Adson is examined by hand at our United States facility. Intrace USA then stands behind these carbide jaws for three years against manufacturing defects in any T.C jaw or spring. Remember that every T.C pair travels non-sterile, so wash and autoclave it before the first patient.
The steel body meets ASTM F899 requirements for stainless surgical instruments. Explore the full Adson forceps category, or for multi-tooth grip see the Adson-Brown Tissue Forceps. Our customer FAQs cover payment and returns.
