Witzel Root Forceps
When a tooth breaks or you section it on purpose, the job shifts to roots. Our Witzel root forceps cover that stage. The range includes extracting, splinter and resection figures, all aimed at roots and fragments.
Fitting Into a Sectioning Workflow
Many surgeons now split multi-rooted teeth before removal. After that, you lift the roots one at a time. This tends to save bone. However, it leaves you with narrow, loose pieces that a crown forceps cannot hold. That is where a root pattern helps.
Seven Options in the Witzel Group
- Extracting forceps: Fig. 01 for lower roots, Fig. 02 for upper roots
- Root splinter forceps: one for lower roots, one for upper roots
- Resection forceps: for lower roots
- Surgical list: Fig. 501 and Fig. 502
Matching the Tool to the Fragment
First, sort by arch. Fig. 01 and the lower splinter forceps suit the mandible, while Fig. 02 and the upper splinter forceps suit the maxilla. Next, think about size. A whole root fits the extracting figures, but a thin splinter needs the splinter forceps. The resection forceps is for lower roots. Fig. 501 and 502 come from our surgical list. We sell every option singly.
Technique on Loose Roots
Get a clear view before you grip. Seat the tips on root surface, as deep as you safely can. After that, use small rocking moves. If the root slips, stop and re-seat rather than squeeze harder. Lastly, check the socket for any remaining bits.
Hinge Lubrication
Root forceps work in tight spots, so a stiff joint costs you control. After cleaning, add instrument lube to the hinge and work it open and shut. Also wipe off any extra before you sterilize.
Warranty and Ordering Details
Our Witzel root forceps follow an Intrace drawing and pass a check by our US staff. Witzel bodies here use a stainless steel listed under ASTM F899. You get each tool non-sterile, and after cleaning and sterilisation it is fit to use many times. We give three years against manufacturing defects, and that cover holds on all seven options. Look at our resection forceps page for more root work, or scan the extracting forceps category. Order and return queries live on our FAQ list.
Supplied for use by trained clinicians. Steps for reprocessing are on our sterilization guide, and transit times are on our delivery page.
