Description
Warwick-James Root Elevators
Few small elevators are as popular as this one. Warwick-James root elevators are small, fine tools for third molars and small roots. You can order Fig. 1, Fig. 2 or Fig. 3, or all three.
A classic trio
The pattern is known as one straight elevator plus a curved pair, left and right. Together, the three give you reach on both sides of the mouth. We do not label which figure is which here. Instead, look at the set in person and note the form of each.
Where these small elevators shine
Third molars often sit far back with little room. A small blade fits that space better than a large one. It also suits small roots, such as those of lower incisors, where a broad tool would crowd the site.
Choosing a figure
- Fig. 1: one figure of the trio.
- Fig. 2: a second figure of the trio.
- Fig. 3: the last figure, which completes the set.
Most dentists keep all three, since the straight form and the curved pair work as a team. However, we sell each figure singly, so you can top up just one.
Leverage done right
Seat the blade between root and bone. After that, wedge it and turn it with steady, modest force. Keep a firm finger rest so the tool cannot slip toward soft tissue. Never use a second molar as your fulcrum unless it is also coming out. In addition, guard the buccal plate if an implant will follow.
Grip and edge
The handle sits well in the hand for control. Still, a small blade wears with use. So hone it lightly when it dulls, and check the curve has not opened.
Ordering the trio
All three ship non-sterile, yet full cleaning and sterilization lets you put them back to work. Their stainless steel satisfies ASTM F899, and the design keeps to our own specification. Every figure enjoys three years against manufacturing defects, so you buy with peace of mind. For mirrored fine tips, see the Warwick left and right pair.
