Description

Miller Root Elevators

Miller root elevators come in four figures: Fig. 8, Fig. 9, Fig. 10 and Fig. 11. You can buy one figure or the full run. The four work as a small family. So they suit a practice that wants a matched group on one extraction tray.

Building a Tray Around Four Figures

Start with the extractions you do most. Then pick the figures that match those roots and the access you tend to get. Some clinicians lay out all four and let the case decide. Others keep two on the tray and store the rest nearby. Either way, every figure sells singly, so the tray can grow with you.

What to Weigh Before You Order

  • Root size and how much room the PDL space gives
  • Upper or lower arch, and the side you work from
  • How the handle sits in your grip
  • Which figures your tray already holds

Hold the figures if you can. In practice, feel decides more than the number stamped on the shank.

Miller or Miller-Apexo?

The Miller-Apexo line is a close relative. If your tray already holds those, these figures add more choice. Still, compare both in the hand before you settle, since each pattern has its own feel. Some users keep Miller root elevators for general work and the sibling for finer roots.

Controlled Elevation

Seat the tip in the PDL space with a firm finger rest close by. Next, wedge or turn in small steps and let the root rise. Never lean on the next tooth unless it comes out as well. If implant placement comes next, leave the buccal plate whole.

Tip Care

Brush each tip before debris dries. Then check the edge for wear.

Getting Your Figures

Every Miller figure follows our own specification and passes a US inspection. Its stainless steel is in line with the ASTM F899 standard. Out of the carton it is not sterile; run your usual cleaning and autoclave steps, then reuse it freely. Each figure enjoys three years against manufacturing defects, aimed at flaws born in the making. For the sibling pattern, see the Miller-Apexo root elevators. You can also scan our elevator category or our answers to common questions.
