Description
Tunneling Set, 7 Pieces
The tunneling set is a short, focused kit for root coverage by the tunnel method. In this approach you avoid vertical cuts and work through the sulcus instead. Therefore every one of the seven pieces is slim and made for small access.
Entering through the sulcus
First, the #1 tunneling elevator makes the sulcular entry. It starts the split between gum and bone without a large incision. Then the #2 elevator extends the pouch sideways and toward the vestibule. Together they create a tunnel under intact papillae.
Short and long Orban knives
The Orban 1/2 knife comes in two lengths. The short version suits the front, where access is easy. By contrast, the long version reaches back teeth and deeper areas. Both help free tissue fibres so the tunnel can move.
- Two elevators: entry (#1) and pouch extension (#2)
- Orban 1/2 knives in short and long lengths
- Younger-Good 7/8 curette for the root
- Jacobson micro needle holder and suture pliers
Preparing the root
Before you place a graft, the root surface should be clean. For this step, the Younger-Good 7/8 curette smooths the exposed root. It also works well around the papillae.
Micro suturing
Tunnel cases often close with fine sutures. So the kit includes a curved Jacobson micro needle holder for small needles. The suture pliers also help grip and guide the thread.
Is this kit enough?
This tunneling set covers the tunnel steps only. However, it has no probe, mirror or scalpel handle, since most offices already own those. For a wider grafting kit, our plastic surgery set adds periotomes, elevators and scissors. Buying these seven pieces together still saves time.
The pieces are made to our specification, then inspected by our team in the United States. Steel for them meets ASTM F899. Each item is non-sterile on delivery and reusable once you clean and sterilise it. On top of that, tunneling elevators, Orban knives and the Jacobson holder hold three years against manufacturing defects once delivered. For a fuller grafting kit, see the Periodontal Plastic Surgery Set, or view all dental institutional sets. Have a question? Our FAQ section may help.
