Description
Towner-Jacquette Scalers
A Towner Jacquette scaler combines two classic sickle scaler patterns on one handle: the Towner U15 and a Jacquette figure. This page also offers the Towner Fig. U15 on its own. All five options come from the scaler pages of the supplier catalogue, and our team in Georgia examines each instrument before dispatch, so US inspection comes first.
Sickle Scalers and Supragingival Deposits
Sickle scalers have a pointed tip and two cutting edges. They are designed for calculus above the gumline and just under the contact. So hygienists often reach for one before a curette, then switch to the curette for subgingival root work. Because the tip is pointed, adaptation and a light lateral pressure matter.
Fig. U15, U15/30 and U15/33
The option called Towner, Fig. U15 is the Towner pattern alone, as the catalogue lists it. Meanwhile, the U15/30 combination pairs the Towner U15 with the Jacquette 30, and the U15/33 combination pairs it with the Jacquette 33. The catalogue does not print blade angles, therefore compare the photos to see how the Jacquette ends differ. Many clinicians keep one combination for anterior teeth and add the other once they know their preference.
The Two Style 2 Options
Both combinations are listed again as Style 2. Those rows sit on the next catalogue page and show the same figures with a different, unnamed handle. Look at the photos side by side, then pick the handle that matches the rest of your hygiene cassette.
Each scaler is stainless steel to ASTM F899 and comes non-sterile; clean and sterilize it before use. We also guarantee it for three years against manufacturing defects. Follow the ASTM F899 link, browse Diagnostic, Periodontal & Restorative Instruments, or set these beside our Jacquette curettes and scalers. See the FAQs for order help.
Scalers are for trained hygienists and dentists only. Edge care and reprocessing are explained on care and sterilization; courier choices are on shipping and delivery.
