Description
Torquing Pliers Set
A torquing pliers set gives you the tools to twist torque into rectangular archwire. You hold the wire with flat parallel beaks, then turn it to set the root angle you need. It is a finishing tool, so it earns its place late in treatment.
Why torque needs two grips
Torque is a twist along the wire, not a bend. For that reason you need a firm hold on each side of the twist. Two pliers let one hand steady the wire while the other turns it. As a result, the change stays local and the rest of the arch keeps its form.
Late in treatment, when slots are full
Most torque goes in once the teeth are level and the slots are full. Then a small twist at one tooth can tip a root into line. Clinicians also use the set for small detail bends in the same visit.
Twisting in four moves
- First, seat the beaks flat on the wire so no edge bites in.
- Next, hold one plier still as an anchor.
- Then rotate the second plier a small step at a time.
- Finally, try the wire in the slot before you add more.
No wire figures on file
The catalogue lists this item as a torquing pliers set and gives no wire sizes. So we do not quote a capacity here. Instead, please check the photo for the beak form, and contact us with any question before you buy.
Set care and backing
Our own specification guides the build, and each set gets a once-over from our team in the United States. As for the metal, it is stainless steel in line with ASTM F899. Both pliers arrive non-sterile; clean and sterilise them, and they are fit for reuse visit after visit. If a build fault ever shows, three years against manufacturing defects is how long our cover lasts here. For the single plier version, look at the arch forming and torquing plier. Our orthodontic instrument range has the rest, and the common questions page answers order queries.
Intended for professional use. See our cleaning and sterilizing notes and delivery details before you place an order.
