Description
Swedish Intraligamental Syringe
The Swedish intraligamental syringe looks more like a pen than a dental gun. That slim shape is the whole point. Many patients tense up when they see a pistol grip, so a low-key body can help a nervous visit feel calmer.
Small steps, fine control
According to the catalogue, it injects 0.06 ml with every click. That is a much smaller step than the 0.20 ml of our pistol models. As a result, you can build the dose slowly and stop the moment the tooth goes numb.
Holding a pen-style lever syringe
You hold it much like a pen, with one finger on the lever. Therefore your hand stays close to the mouth, and the syringe hides easily behind your fingers. Next, press the lever in short, even strokes and pause between them.
Typical PDL cases
Dentists generally use intraligamental injection for one tooth at a time. For example, it can help with a single crown prep, or when a lower molar stays sensitive after a block. In many cases it also spares the patient a numb lip for the rest of the day.
Points to keep in mind
- It takes standard 1.8 ml cartridges.
- Seat the needle in the sulcus with the bevel facing the root.
- Count clicks to keep track of the volume given.
- Stop if fluid leaks back at the gum line, then reseat the tip.
Swedish pen or Falcon-Ject?
Our Falcon-Ject pens share the same 0.06 ml step. The Swedish type is a slim pen body with a lever, while the Falcon-Ject comes in angled and straight forms. Pick the Swedish intraligamental syringe if you want a plain, classic pen layout without choosing a head shape.
Before it reaches your tray
It ships non-sterile. Clean and sterilize it first, and it is then ready for repeated use. For its steel parts we work to ASTM F899, which covers stainless steel for surgical instruments. Should a flaw in how it was made appear, the Swedish syringe is covered by three years against manufacturing defects, lever included. Compare it with the angled Falcon-Ject, see every anaesthesia syringe we stock, or check our FAQs.
Professional use only. For the Swedish pen syringe, read our sterilization advice and shipping information before you order.
