This offset sinus lift osteotome pairs a concave tip with a bent shaft. It comes in five tip diameters, from 2.6 mm up to 5.0 mm. Each one is examined in the United States before it is packed for shipment.
Why the Tip Is Concave
The hollowed face matters. As you tap the instrument apically, the concave end gathers bone and carries it ahead of the tip. The supplier catalogue describes this use: the osteotome enters the osteotomy and is gently tapped toward the apex. So the cupped face supports a crestal approach rather than working against it.
What the Offset Shaft Changes
Molar sites in the upper jaw rarely allow a direct, upright approach. The offset bend moves the handle away from the working axis. Therefore, the mallet strike and your view stay clear of the opposing teeth. Clinicians working in the molar region often prefer this layout over a straight shaft.
Stepping Through 2.6 to 5.0 mm
The five options are 2.6mm, 3.1mm, 3.8mm, 4.5mm and 5.0mm. Many protocols start narrow, then widen in stages. For example, the 2.6 mm tip can follow the pilot drill, while later tips approach the final width. Pick your end size from the planned implant, then add the steps below it.
