Description
Sinus Curettes
Sinus augmentation depends on lifting the membrane from the sinus floor without tearing it. A sinus curette gives the surgeon a working end shaped for that delicate separation. Intrace USA, a distributor based in Atlanta, offers three numbered patterns from our set components, and each curette is inspected by hand in the United States.
The Role of a Curette in a Sinus Lift
After the bony window or crestal access is prepared, the membrane must be freed in stages. First, a smaller instrument starts the separation at the edge of the opening. Then other curettes in the kit continue the work along the floor and walls. As a result, space opens beneath the membrane for graft material.
Choosing Among #1, #5 and #6
- #1: the first numbered curette in the set series.
- #5: a later pattern from the same numbered series.
- #6: the next pattern after #5 in that series.
Our catalogue does not publish tip diameters or angles for these numbers. Therefore, compare the photos with your existing kit, and reorder the numbers you use most. Many surgeons replace the instrument that wears first rather than a whole set.
Fitting Into an Implant Tray
Sinus curettes sit beside elevators, bone curettes and graft carriers in an implant setup. In addition, a spare of your favourite number keeps a case moving if an instrument is dropped. So keeping two of the most used pattern is a practical habit.
Smooth Edges Matter
Nicks or burrs on a membrane instrument are a concern. So inspect each tip under magnification after every case. These curettes are supplied non-sterile; clean and autoclave them according to your surgical protocol before use. Every numbered pattern stays covered by us for three years against manufacturing defects.
Each sinus curette is made from stainless steel per ASTM F899. You can explore implant surgery tools in Dental Implant Instruments, add LaBanca Bone Curettes as a companion surgical curette, or visit our implant and surgery FAQs.
