Description

Gum Scissors

Dental gum scissors trim gingival tissue during periodontal and oral surgery, and they also tidy tissue tags and suture ends. This listing offers four versions that differ in blade edge, length and curve. Intrace USA stocks all four in Atlanta, Georgia, so you can match one or build a small set.

The Two Saw Edge Versions

The Saw Edge, 10 cm, Straight and the Saw Edge, 10 cm, Curved share a serrated cutting edge. Serrations grip soft tissue as the blades close, which helps stop slippery gingiva from sliding out of the cut. At 10 cm, both are compact and suited to close work near the teeth. The straight one gives a direct line of cut, while the curved one follows the arch.

13 cm, Curved and 15 cm

The 13 cm, Curved version adds length and keeps the curve for working around the arch. Meanwhile, the 15 cm option is the longest in the group, giving the most reach toward posterior sites. These two labels do not mention a saw edge. Therefore, check the product photos for blade details before choosing.

Choosing a Length and Blade

Start with the site you treat most often. For anterior tissue, a 10 cm pair keeps the hand close and steady. For deeper posterior access, the 13 cm or 15 cm versions add reach. Then decide on the edge: choose Saw Edge when grip on the tissue matters most. Many periodontal trays carry one curved and one straight pair.

Inspection and Coverage

Our team opens and closes every pair and looks over the blades in the United States before it ships. Plus, these gum scissors receive three years against manufacturing defects in blades, joint or rings. They arrive non-sterile; clean the joint area carefully and sterilize before use.

Steel follows ASTM F899. More periodontal tools are in Diagnostic, Periodontal & Restorative Instruments. For a named surgical alternative, compare the Goldman-Fox Gum Scissors. Our FAQs handle order questions.

Gum scissors are sold for trained periodontal and surgical teams; see how to clean and sterilize them and our delivery information.
