LaBanca Bone Curettes
Implant and grafting surgery often needs a small scoop that can lift bone cleanly from a defect or donor area. The LaBanca bone curette fills that role. Our supplier catalogue places it among its bone scoops and lists two versions under the LaBanca name.
Standard or 3 x 1.5 mm
The two options differ in how the catalogue describes the working end.
- Standard: the base pattern under the plain LaBanca name, the original version of the design.
- 3 x 1.5 mm: listed with a 3 x 1.5 mm size, a small scoop that suits tight spaces.
Because the catalogue gives no measurement for the standard version, please compare both photos to judge the difference in scoop size.
Gathering Bone for the Graft Dish
A scoop shape holds what it collects. So the clinician can draw bone chips out of a site and carry them to the dish without spilling. In addition, the small cup is useful for removing granulation tissue from a fresh socket before placement.
Picking a Size for the Site
Match the scoop to the space you will work in. For example, a narrow socket or an access window favours the 3 x 1.5 mm version. On the other hand, a broader defect may move faster with the standard pattern. Many surgeons keep both, since sites vary from one patient to the next.
Each scoop is inspected at our location in the United States before it ships. Either version is warranted for three years against manufacturing defects, scoop and shank alike. Curettes leave us unsterilized, so clean and sterilize them before the first case.
Scoop steel is selected per ASTM F899 surgical grade criteria. Find related tools in our implant instruments department, and raise the flap first with the matching LaBanca implant periosteal elevators. Further help is on the Intrace FAQ page.
For handling by trained dental professionals. Scoop cleaning is covered on our care and sterilization overview, and order transit on our shipping and delivery overview.
