Sarot artery forceps are a 24 cm dissecting and ligature clamp. They come straight or curved.

Straight or curved

A straight jaw points the tips right at the target. On the other hand, a curved jaw keeps the tips visible.

The length reaches deep in the chest and abdomen. Also, it keeps your hand clear.

Clamp or pass a tie

The tips hold vessels and ligatures. Then the ratchet keeps the hold steady.

Holding steady

Rest the rings on the drape when you can. That way the tip stays still while an assistant ties. Also, close the ratchet one click at a time. Because long jaws flex slightly, this gives an even hold. In addition, the straight and curved versions share one length. So teams can keep both on one set. Then the surgeon picks the jaw that suits each step.
