Description

Potts T-Handle Root Elevators

Our Potts T-handle elevators put the Potts root blade on a cross-bar grip. You can order a Left, a Right, or both. The T shape lets the handle rest in your palm. As a result, you can apply more turning force than a slim handle allows.

When a cross-bar earns its place

Some roots sit tight in heavy bone. In those cases, a palm grip gives you steady torque without a white-knuckle hold. Still, more force is not always better. So build up slowly and let the root loosen before you ask more of it.

Left or right, or the pair

The blade works toward one side, so the hand you need depends on where you are working. Many clinicians keep both, because a case can move from one side to the other in a single visit. You can buy each hand on its own, and that makes it simple to replace one that goes missing.

  • Left: for working toward one side of the arch
  • Right: the mirror image for the opposite side
  • Both: a full pair for any quadrant

T grip or standard handle?

We also offer the same Potts pattern with a standard handle. That version suits users who like fine finger control and a lighter touch. By contrast, Potts T-handle elevators favour power. Some offices keep one of each and choose by case.

Technique reminders

Slip the tip down into the ligament space and keep a firm rest. Then turn in small arcs. Never lever against a healthy adjacent tooth. In addition, where an implant is on the cards, spare the buccal plate.

Supply and support

This pair follows our own drawing and specification; then staff in the United States give it a last hands-on review. Stainless steel to ASTM F899 keeps it sound through repeated cycles. We send it non-sterile; after a scrub and a sterilization cycle it can return to use many times. A problem caused in production is ours to put right for three years against manufacturing defects. Compare the standard-handle Potts, or browse more root and luxating elevators. You will find order help on the Intrace FAQ.
