Description
Periodontal and Surgical Instrument Set, 15 Pieces
This periodontal surgical instrument set gathers fifteen pieces for a full gum treatment visit. First you chart the pockets, then you scale, and finally you reshape the tissue.
Charting and marking the pocket
The Williams probe reads pocket depth against its millimetre bands. After that, the Goldman-Fox pocket markers, one right and one left, leave small bleeding points on the outer gum at pocket depth. As a result, you have a guide line before any cut.
Four scalers and three Gracey curettes
The Goldman-Fox Fig. 1 universal, McCall 13/14, Crane-Kaplan Fig. 6 and Towner U15 scalers each give a different blade angle. Then the Gracey curettes work below the gum line. Generally the 5/6 serves front teeth, and the other two pair up for molar root faces.
Knives for gingivectomy work
The Kirkland 15K/16K has broad, kidney-shaped blades for the main bevel cut. In contrast, the Orban 1/2 is slim for tissue between teeth, and the Buck 5/6 adds another fine shape. Next, the curved, serrated Goldman-Fox scissors snip tags, while the Molt M9 elevator lifts tissue for a clear view.
- Probe and two pocket markers
- Four scalers
- Three Gracey curettes
- Three knives, scissors and an elevator
How it compares with sibling kits
This kit leans toward gingivectomy. However, it has no needle holder or scalpel handle, so suturing cases suit our 20-piece surgery kit. A clinic doing only closed root work may pick the 17-piece root planing kit instead.
One order instead of fifteen
Fifteen singles mean mixed handle styles. Instead, this periodontal surgical instrument set arrives matched, in one order, so the count after each cycle stays easy.
Each piece is made to our specification; a United States inspection follows before packing. For corrosion resistance, we pick stainless grades listed under ASTM F899. The instruments leave us non-sterile, so clean and sterilise them first; after that they are reusable. You hold three years against manufacturing defects on all 15 periodontal and surgical pieces in this kit. To compare more kits, browse our clinical and institutional dental sets, or look at the Root Planing Set, 17 Pieces. Our FAQ page covers ordering for this periodontal kit.
For professional use only. Check our care and sterilization steps for perio tools and see delivery times before you order.
