Description
Periodontal Debridement Set, 12 Pieces
A periodontal debridement set should cover a full deep cleaning from first probe to last stroke. This one does that with twelve pieces, including two stones that keep the edges keen between visits.
Finding calculus before you remove it
Two explorers open the visit. The TU 17/23 handles everyday checks. For deeper root surfaces, reach for the EXD 11/12 AF. Next comes the colour probe UNC 15/11/5B, which records pocket depth, so you know where the curettes need to go.
Sickles first, curettes after
The H6/7 and 204SD scalers clear heavy deposits above the gum line. After that, the Gracey curettes take over below it. The standard Gracey 17/18 is often chosen for distal surfaces of posterior teeth. Meanwhile, the SAS Gracey 1/2 serves anterior teeth and the SAS Gracey 7/8 serves facial and lingual posterior surfaces.
Keeping every edge sharp
Dull blades burnish calculus instead of lifting it. For this reason the set adds a hard Arkansas poly stone plus a fine slip stone. Use them chairside or between patients, and always check the face angle after each pass.
Small pieces that save time
- Mirror handle #6 for light and cheek retraction
- London College cotton forceps for pellets and gauze
- Two stones, so sharpening never waits for a lab
Debridement tray or root planing tray?
Choose this tray for routine deep cleaning with a lean instrument count. By contrast, a larger root planing kit adds more curettes for long sessions. Ordering the twelve together still beats buying singles, because the handles match and one order fills a whole tray.
Buying and looking after it
Each piece comes made to our specification, and a United States team checks it. The stainless parts meet ASTM F899. Debridement explorers, Graceys and stones also hold three years against manufacturing defects, counted from arrival. Note that the kit arrives non-sterile; once cleaned and sterilized, you can reuse it many times.
