Description
PA Implant Periosteal Elevator
The PA periosteal elevator belongs to the implant periosteal group in our supplier catalogue, where it is listed simply as number PA. Its job is to lift the periosteum and overlying mucosa from bone in one layer. That full thickness flap gives the surgeon clean access to the ridge before an osteotomy or graft.
What an Implant Periosteal Does Differently
General periosteals often have broad, heavy blades. Implant periosteals, however, tend to be slimmer, because they must work around existing teeth, healing abutments and narrow ridges. The PA pattern sits in that group, so it suits controlled reflection where space is limited.
A Single PA Pattern
This product has one version only. The catalogue gives the pattern name but no blade measurements. Therefore, please look closely at the photos to judge the working end before ordering. If you need a different profile, our range includes several other implant periosteals.
Reflecting a Flap Step by Step
First, start at the incision line and slide the edge under the periosteum. Next, keep the blade against bone and advance with short, rocking strokes. Then, extend the reflection until the ridge and any defects are visible. Finally, hand the flap to a retractor so it stays clear.
- Crestal flaps for implant placement
- Papilla release next to natural teeth
- Exposure for ridge augmentation
Inspection, Warranty and Sterility
Each PA elevator is inspected in the United States before it goes out. The blade edge and handle carry our pledge of three years against manufacturing defects. Because it is supplied non-sterile, clean and autoclave it before it touches tissue.
The stainless steel is made to ASTM F899. Browse our maxillofacial surgery instruments, hold the reflected flap with an Austin Retractor, or read the FAQs.
