Description
Osteotome Set, 19 Pieces
This graduated osteotome set brings the full case together: access, site prep and closure. At its core are seven osteotomes. Around them sit twelve support pieces, so the tray works from the first cut to the last stitch.
Seven osteotomes with depth marks
Tips run 1.8, 2.5, 3, 3.2 and 4 mm, and two of them share the 4 mm size with different tip forms. One more has an R 0.38 mm tip. Marks at 8, 10, 12, 15 and 18 mm show depth on each pass. Then the Mead mallet 1 gives the light taps the method relies on.
Opening and holding the flap
First, the #5 scalpel handle takes your blade for the incision. Next, the titanium Molt 9 lifts the tissue off the bone. Meanwhile, the Cawood-Minnesota retractor holds cheek and flap away. The Molt 2/4 curette then cleans the site.
Periotomes for a tooth in the way
Sometimes a failing tooth must come out before the site is ready. For that, PT2 suits front teeth and PT1 suits back teeth. Both have serrated grips.
Closing with the right tools
- Adson forceps, 12 cm, to hold the tissue edge.
- Crile-Wood needle holder, 15 cm, with carbide inserts.
- Goldman-Fox scissors, 12 cm, to trim tissue.
- Curved iris scissors, 11.5 cm, to cut sutures.
Also, the 1.8 ml aspirating syringe lets you top up the anesthetic.
How it compares with the long sets
Our long osteotome kits hold five tools and nothing else. By contrast, this one adds the soft-tissue side of the case. So it suits a team setting up a new tray rather than adding to one.
This graduated osteotome set is built to our specification and inspected in the US. All stainless parts follow ASTM F899. It arrives non-sterile, and it is reusable after cleaning and sterilization. For a fault that traces back to production, this 19-piece osteotome kit holds three years against manufacturing defects in full.
