Description

Oral Surgery Instrument Set, 9 Pieces

This oral surgery instrument set covers a routine extraction from first grip to last stitch. It puts four forceps, three elevators and two needle holders in one order.

Four forceps for roots and third molars

The forceps follow the English pattern, with beaks shaped for each arch. Fig. 33A takes lower roots, while Fig. 51A takes upper roots. Both have narrow tips, so they reach a root that sits deep. Then Fig. 67A and Fig. 79 deal with upper and lower third molars.

Flohr and Bein blades to loosen first

Most teeth need loosening before the forceps go on. For this reason, the set adds a Flohr pair, Fig. 2 left and Fig. 3 right, so you can work from either side. Also, the Bein Fig. 6 has a straight blade for direct entry into the ligament space.

Two needle holders to close the site

Once the socket is clean, the case moves to sutures. The 140 mm Mathieu needle holder sits in the palm for short throws. By contrast, the 160 mm Mayo-Hegar gives more reach toward the back teeth. Both carry tungsten carbide inserts, so the jaws have a harder face on the needle.

This kit or the forceps and Winter version?

Our sister kit shares the same four forceps. However, it swaps the needle holders for Winter cross-bar elevators. So pick that one if your team already owns suture tools. Either way, one matched order beats nine single buys, and staff learn a single layout.

Steel, cover and further reading

We have each piece made to our own specification and then examined here in the US. Its stainless steel conforms to ASTM F899. Out of the box the nine-piece surgery kit is non-sterile, though each tool is reusable after you clean and sterilize it. If a fault from production shows up, you can claim on three years against manufacturing defects for this nine-piece oral surgery kit. You can browse more surgical and clinical dental kits, compare the forceps and root elevator version, or read our common questions page.

Strictly a tool for dental professionals. Read our steps for cleaning and sterilizing before the first cycle, and see how and when orders ship before you buy.
