Micro Mosquito Forceps, 10 cm

Small bleeders in the mouth call for small clamps. This micro mosquito hemostat is only 10 cm long, so it fits between flaps and around teeth where a standard hemostat would crowd the field. It clamps fine vessels, holds tags of tissue, and helps you retrieve small fragments from a socket.

Four Patterns, One Length

• Straight: plain jaws on a straight line, best for direct, superficial access.
• Curved: plain jaws with a curve, so the tips reach around tissue edges.
• 1×2 Teeth, Straight: a straight jaw ending in one tooth opposing two, for a firmer hold.
• 1×2 Teeth, Curved: the toothed tip on a curved jaw, combining reach with grip.

What 1×2 Teeth Add

The catalogue lists both plain micro mosquito patterns and versions marked 1×2. In the toothed versions, a lone tooth on one side seats between a pair opposite it. As a result, the tip bites into tissue and resists slipping. Plain jaws, by contrast, are gentler on vessels and fine structures. So, choose teeth for grasping tissue and plain jaws for clamping.

Straight Versus Curved Micro Mosquitos

Straight jaws give a clear line of sight to the tip. Curved jaws, however, let you approach a vessel from the side and keep your hand out of the view. Many surgeons stock one of each, since sites vary from case to case.

These clamps arrive non-sterile, so put them through cleaning and an autoclave cycle before the first case.
