A mccall curette is a double-ended periodontal instrument for removing calculus and planing root surfaces. Each figure pairs mirror-image ends, so one instrument can reach both sides of a tooth. This page gathers every McCall option from our supplier in one place.

The Six Catalogue Figures

The catalogue page shows Fig. 11/12, Fig. 11A/12A, Fig. 13/14, Fig. 13S/14S, Fig. 17S/18S and Fig. 19/20. The numbers identify the blade pair, while the A and S suffixes mark variants of a base figure. Since the catalogue draws rather than describes each one, compare the photos with the areas you treat most.

Style 2 Handle Versions

Five figures repeat on the next page as Style 2: 11/12, 13/14, 13S/14S, 17S/18S and 19/20. That label means the same McCall figure on another handle pattern. However, the catalogue does not describe the handle change. So use the photos to decide which grip suits you.

Single Ends and Set Figures

Fig. 17 and Fig. 18 are sold as separate single options. They suit a clinician who wants just one end of the 17/18 pairing. In addition, Fig. 17/18 and Fig. 17/18R come from instrument sets, so you can replace a lost set piece without buying the whole kit.

Keeping a McCall Sharp

A sharp blade removes deposits with fewer strokes, which spares the root surface. Therefore sharpen little and often, keeping the original face angle.

Curettes are delivered unsterilized, so they must be cleaned and sterilized before patient care.
