Description
Magill Forceps, Child, 7-1/2 Inch
Child Magill forceps reach toward the back of the mouth and throat while your hand stays out of the line of sight. This size measures 19 cm, or 7-1/2 inches. Our Atlanta staff checks every pair by hand, so each unit is inspected in the United States.
Why the Shanks Are Angled
Magill forceps bend away from the handles. Consequently, the tips can grasp an object deep in the oral cavity while the rings sit off to one side. That offset keeps your view down the instrument clear.
A Safety Tool for Implant Surgery
Small parts sometimes slip. For example, a cover screw, healing cap or driver tip can fall toward the throat. Keeping a pair of Magill forceps on the tray means you can retrieve it quickly. Many implant teams treat them as standard emergency equipment. Store them where the whole team knows to look.
Choosing the Child Size
The child pattern is shorter than adult Magill forceps. So it suits pediatric patients and adults with a small oral opening. It also feels more manageable in the front half of the mouth. If you mainly treat large adults, compare it with a longer pattern first. Then again, a shorter instrument is often easier to steer when the patient is fully reclined.
Our Promise on Every Pair
The stainless steel forceps tolerate repeated reprocessing. Plus, we cover them for three years against manufacturing defects, from jaws to finger rings.
Surgical steel requirements are published in ASTM F899. Additional grasping tools are in our Dental Implant Instruments category. For seating and carrying implant components, keep our Implant Forceps alongside. Questions? The FAQs page has answers.
