Implant Forceps
When a failing tooth must come out before a fixture goes in, the way it leaves the socket matters. These implant forceps grip the crown or the remaining root firmly, so the clinician can deliver steady, controlled force. Three head patterns let you match the beak angle to the tooth you are treating.
Straight, 75° East/West or 90° East/West
The option names describe how the working end sits relative to the handles. Choose by the arch position and by how the patient opens.
- Straight: the beaks continue the line of the handles, which suits anterior teeth where access is direct.
- 75° east/west: the head turns sideways at a moderate angle, so the beaks reach a premolar while the handles clear the corner of the mouth.
- 90° east/west: a full right-angle turn for teeth further back, where a straight approach would push against the lip.
Why a Sideways Angle Helps at the Chair
East/west heads open to the side rather than up or down. As a result, the operator can stand in a comfortable position and still seat the beaks along the long axis of the root. Many practices keep two or all three patterns on the implant tray, because the angle needed changes from case to case.
Working Toward a Preserved Socket
Gentle extraction leaves the bony walls in better shape for the next step. Therefore these implant forceps work best after the ligament has been released with a periotome or luxator. Then the beaks take over for the final, controlled delivery of the tooth or fragment.
Inspection, Warranty and First Use
Each instrument is checked by our team in the United States before it is packed. We stand behind every pair of implant forceps for three years against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. They ship non-sterile, so run them through your cleaning and autoclave cycle before the first patient.
Forceps steel is chosen to the ASTM F899 grades used for handheld surgical tools. Browse the full dental implant instruments collection, and loosen the root first with our luxating elevators and periotomes. Ordering questions are answered on our FAQs page.
Sold for use by trained professionals only. Read how to reprocess extraction forceps on the instrument care guide, and see dispatch times on the shipping and delivery page.
