Description
Large Prophylaxis Set, 12 Pieces
The large prophylaxis set suits hygiene visits that go past a quick polish. It covers the exam, scaling and light root work. In addition, it carries its own stone, so blades stay keen.
A hygiene visit from start to finish
Start with the mirror handle #6 and the ODU 11/12 explorer to find rough spots. Then the CP12 colour probe gives pocket readings. Next, the H6/7 and 204S scalers clear visible calculus. Finally, the curettes smooth roots where pockets run deeper.
Five curettes, five reaches
A universal blade, the Columbia 13/14 adapts to most surfaces. By contrast, each Gracey targets one area. The 1/2 suits anterior teeth and the 7/8 suits cheek and tongue sides of back teeth. Meanwhile, the 11/12 handles mesial molar faces and the 13/14 handles distal ones.
- Explorer, probe and mirror handle
- Two scalers
- Columbia plus four Graceys
- Cotton forceps and slip stone
Sharp edges, steady results
A dull curette tends to burnish calculus rather than lift it. For that reason, the kit includes a fine slip stone; keep the original blade angle as you hone. The London College cotton forceps also help with cotton rolls.
Large or standard kit?
Our nine-piece kit uses Barnhart curettes and adds a tray bowl. However, it lacks a stone and Gracey patterns. So choose this larger kit if your hygienists also treat early periodontal cases.
Why one matched kit helps
Twelve singles bought one by one can arrive with different handles. Instead, a matched kit gives each chair the same layout, so restocking takes less time.
Made to our specification, each prophy instrument passes inspection in the United States before we ship it. For the steel, our benchmark is ASTM F899. Instruments arrive non-sterile; after cleaning and sterilisation, you can reuse them again and again. If a fault in making ever shows up, the twelve prophy pieces have three years against manufacturing defects to call on. You can see the wider range in our dental institutional set collection, or compare the nine-piece hygiene kit. For returns and account help, visit the Intrace FAQs.
The prophy kit is for professional use. Our sterilization guide explains reprocessing, and the shipping page lists dispatch details.
