Description
Ladmore Filling Instruments
A ladmore filling instrument carries, packs and shapes restorative material inside a cavity preparation. Dentists and assistants reach for it during direct fillings, when material must be placed and smoothed before it sets. The Ladmore name appears on three separate pages of the supplier catalogue, which is why this listing holds six options.
Fig. 2 Versus Fig. 3
The catalogue offers two Ladmore figures, numbered 2 and 3. Their working ends differ, so each handles a slightly different task in the preparation. Since the catalogue shows rather than describes them, the photos are the place to compare tips. Many restorative trays hold both.
The Style 2 Handle
Fig. 2, Style 2 and Fig. 3, Style 2 repeat the same Ladmore figures from a later catalogue page. In practice, the only intended change is the handle pattern. Because no caption describes it, check the photo to see which handle feels right for your grip.
Burnisher Pattern, Fig. 2 and Fig. 3
A third catalogue page lists Ladmore Fig. 2 and Fig. 3 again, under a burnisher pattern. These suit clinicians who want the Ladmore figure in that pattern for smoothing a surface. As before, the photos show how they compare with the standard versions.
Tips for Use at the Chair
Keep the working end clean between increments, since set material on the tip spoils the next layer. Also wipe it with a gauze pad rather than scraping it on the tray edge.
All six Ladmore options are stainless steel, and an inspector in our Atlanta office looks each over in the United States. Instruments leave us non-sterile, so they need washing and an autoclave cycle before the first filling. Ladmore buyers also get our promise of three years against manufacturing defects on every figure listed here.
Our steel meets ASTM F899 grades. Find more in the restorative instruments category, and for amalgam work consider the Markley amalgam instruments. Common questions are answered in the FAQs.
Ladmore instruments are supplied for trained dental staff. Read our notes on cleaning filling instruments and the dispatch schedule.
