Description
Jarabak Light Wire Bending Pliers
Jarabak pliers are a classic choice for bends in light round wire. They suit loops, offsets and fine tweaks. As a result, many clinicians keep a pair close at hand during archwire changes.
A plier for light round wire
The Jarabak pattern is a light wire plier. So it works best on thin round wire, where you need small, neat bends. Heavier wire, however, calls for a sturdier plier.
Why we quote metric only
The listing gives 0.36 to 0.50 mm, with a top size of 0.46 by 0.56 mm. However, the inch figures beside these numbers look swapped in the source. For that reason, we quote only the metric figures here. If your case needs a firm size, ask us first.
Offsets, insets and loops
- Small offsets and insets in light archwire
- Simple loops in round wire
- Quick tweaks during an archwire change
Bend in small steps
Light wire moves fast under load. Therefore, squeeze gently and check the wire often. In practice, a few small bends give a cleaner result than one big one.
Storing it with tips closed
Look at the tips each time you clean the plier. They should close evenly. Also, store your Jarabak pliers with the tips together so they do not knock against other tools.
Buying a Jarabak plier
Our specification guides how we have it built, and the inspection takes place here in the United States. All the stainless steel complies with ASTM F899. The plier comes non-sterile; after you clean and sterilise it, it returns to the tray for each new case. Our pledge on it: three years against manufacturing defects, start to finish. For a different loop shape, see our Tweed loop plier. Then visit the orthodontic instruments section or the FAQ section for more.
