Description

Amalgam Instruments

Every dentist builds an amalgam tray a little differently, so this page gathers fourteen patterns in one place. These amalgam hand instruments are sold one at a time. That lets you fill gaps in an existing set or try a new shape without committing to a kit. Once you pick the figure or name from the option menu, the photo updates to show that exact piece.

The Numbered Figures

Ten options are identified by figure number only: single figures 1 through 7 with an extra 5A, plus the paired numbers Fig. 1/2 and Fig. 2/29. A paired number usually means a double-ended instrument carrying both figures. Because no further written detail comes with these figures, compare each photo with the instrument you want to match. Fig. 5A sits beside Fig. 5 as a variant of that figure.

Hollenback, Beavertail and Mod. USA

In addition, three options carry names instead of numbers. Hollenback is a long-established eponym in restorative dentistry. Beavertail describes a broad, flat working end, as the name suggests. Then Mod. USA is the label for a modified USA pattern. Again, rely on the photographs to confirm each outline before ordering.

What the Pair Option Means

The Pair option is listed under that label alone in our source list. So check its photo carefully to see which two pieces, or which double-ended design, it shows. If anything is unclear, contact us and we will describe it before you order.

Our United States team reviews each amalgam instrument for straight shanks and clean working ends prior to dispatch. Next, because everything ships non-sterile, wash and autoclave before chairside use. In addition, Intrace USA gives each of these fourteen patterns three years against manufacturing defects pattern by pattern.

Instrument steel is made to ASTM F899 specifications. Find the rest of our diagnostic, periodontal and restorative range, compare the Markley Amalgam Instruments, or read our FAQs.
