Description
Solid Impression Trays with Rim Lock
With no holes in the body, a solid rim lock tray keeps all of the material inside the tray. That suits techniques where you want a clean outer surface and no bleed-through. Instead of perforations, retention comes from the beaded border and a coat of tray adhesive.
Why Choose an Unperforated Body
Solid trays give you full control of the material. For example, a putty wash or a heavy-body elastomer can stay in the tray rather than squeeze out the back. However, set material does not bond to bare steel on its own. So paint a thin, even layer of adhesive and let it dry for the time its maker states.
What the Border Bead Adds
The rim lock is a raised lip along the edge. It catches the material at the margin, so the impression holds its border when you remove the tray. Together with adhesive, it helps stop the flange from peeling away.
Twelve Choices, One Size Chart
You can pick an upper or a lower solid tray, each sized XXS, XS, S, M, L or XL. The chart matches our perforated rim-lock line. Upper trays span from 61×50 mm at XXS up to 81×63 mm at XL. Lower trays start at 59×50 mm and reach 78×63 mm. The first figure is the width across the arch, while the second is front to back.
Try-In Tips
- Seat the empty tray first and check clearance all round.
- Make sure the heels cover the last teeth in the arch.
- Look for even space so the material layer stays uniform.
- Then apply adhesive only to the size that fits.
