Description
Hemingway Bone Curettes
A Hemingway bone curette is a surgical hand instrument with a cupped working end for scraping bone and removing soft tissue from extraction sockets and bony defects. Our listing brings together 13 Hemingway options from two sections of our supplier’s catalogue. All are stainless steel and stocked in Atlanta, Georgia.
Figure Numbers and Cup Size
Within each series, the figure number identifies a different working end. The catalogue gives numbers rather than measured cup diameters. Therefore, use the product photos to compare cup size and shank shape. Surgeons often keep two or three neighbouring figures, so a smaller and a larger cup are always at hand.
Standard, Style 2 and Style 3
The standard series covers figures 1 through 4 on the catalogue’s bone curettes page. Style 3 comes from the second row of that same page, again in figures 1 through 4; it is the same set of figures on a handle pattern the catalogue does not name. Meanwhile, Style 2 comes from a separate bone curettes page in another section and runs from figure 1 to figure 5. As a result, Style 2 is the only series with a fifth figure. Compare the three photos for any figure before you order.
Using a Bone Curette Well
Firm, controlled strokes work better than force. First, seat the cup against the bony wall. Next, draw it toward the opening, lifting soft tissue and debris out of the site. Then irrigate and check the area before closure. Because the cup edge does the work, keeping it sharp matters more than handle length.
Inspection and the Three-Year Warranty
Every Hemingway curette is reviewed by hand at our US premises before dispatch. Above all, standard, Style 2 and Style 3 curettes share three years against manufacturing defects as Hemingway warranty cover. They are shipped non-sterile; clean the cup thoroughly and autoclave before surgery.
Steel follows ASTM F899. Explore related tools under Diagnostic, Periodontal & Restorative Instruments. For a second surgical curette pattern, see the Surgical Curettes Miller 10. Our FAQs cover order and return questions.
Hemingway curettes are for oral surgeons and dentists trained in surgical care; consult our sterilization page and shipping information.
