Description
Graft Packer
Particulate graft is easy to scatter and hard to seat evenly. A bone graft packer solves both problems: one end carries material to the site, and the other condenses it against the walls of the defect. Every pattern on this page is double-ended, so a single handle offers two sizes. That way, the assistant passes fewer instruments during a ridge or socket graft.
Smooth, Concave or Serrated Faces
The face of the tip decides how the graft behaves. A smooth face, offered here as the 5/8 mm pattern, glides over the material and leaves a flat, polished surface. In contrast, the concave 4/6 mm ends cup the particles, so they stay together while you carry them in. Serrated faces grip the graft as you press. For that reason, many surgeons reach for them when material keeps sliding out of a sloped defect.
Matching the Tip Width to the Defect
Each option lists two widths, one per end. For example, the serrated 3/4 mm pattern fits extraction sockets and narrow ridge gaps. Meanwhile, the serrated 6/8 mm pattern covers broad lateral augmentations. Pick the size pair that matches the cases you see most, then add a second packer for the extremes.
- Smooth 5/8 mm: flat finish over the graft
- Concave 4/6 mm: cupped ends for carrying
- Serrated 3/4 mm and Serrated 6/8 mm: textured faces that grip as they compact
- Spoon 3 mm: a small bone spoon and packer for scooping, then placing
When the Spoon Pattern Earns Its Place
The Spoon 3 mm option is listed in the catalogue as a bone spoon and packer. So it scoops material from a mixing well and drops it straight into a small site. Once the graft is in place, the opposite end tamps it down.
Our Promise on Every Packer
A staff member in the United States looks over each packer before it is boxed. It ships non-sterile, so process it through your cleaning and autoclave routine first. Our three years against manufacturing defects coverage applies to every tip size listed above.
Steel for these packers is chosen to ASTM F899 requirements. Prepare graft first in the Bone Mixing Bowl, or explore the full range of Dental Implant Instruments. For returns or quotes, read the FAQs.
Graft packers are supplied only for trained professionals in dental surgery. Our care and sterilization page explains reprocessing, and shipping and delivery lists carrier options.
