Description
Gardner Periodontal Instruments
With five figures to choose from, the Gardner line gives periodontists more variety than most patterns on this page of our catalogue. Each gardner periodontal instrument is sold individually. The available figures are Fig. 1, Fig. 2, Fig. 5, Fig. 5R and Fig. 6. In the supplier catalogue, they sit beside the Ochsenbein and Wakefield patterns.
Five Figures, One Family
The catalogue numbers each Gardner figure but prints no sizes. Consequently, the gallery photos are the key to choosing. Each figure has its own working-end shape, while the overall Gardner style stays the same. That consistency helps when you move from one figure to the next mid-procedure.
How Fig. 5 and Fig. 5R Relate
Fig. 5R appears in the catalogue as a separate entry next to Fig. 5. The shared number suggests a closely related pair. However, the catalogue does not explain the R suffix. To see how the two differ, compare their photos before deciding whether you need one or both.
Building a Gardner Tray
Some clinicians stock a single favourite figure. Others prefer the full run so every area of the mouth has a matching shape. For example, a practice that does regular osseous surgery might start with two or three figures. Then the remaining ones can join later as technique develops.
Our Inspection and Your Warranty
All five figures are hand-checked in the United States before dispatch. Because they ship non-sterile, run each one through cleaning and sterilization before use. Buying the whole Gardner run? Each figure gets its own three years against manufacturing defects.
Gardner instruments use steel that meets ASTM F899. More choices are in our diagnostic, periodontal and restorative instruments section. The Buser modified periodontal chisel works well alongside these patterns, and our FAQs cover ordering.
