Description
Friedman Root Elevators
Friedman root elevators come in five figures, and many users meet them next to the Flohr family. The two names often share a tray. This page helps you decide which Friedman figures to add and how they sit beside a Flohr set.
Five Friedman figures
The options are Fig. 1, Fig. 2, Fig. 3, 31F and 32F. Fig. 1 to 3 come from our surgical list, while 31F and 32F come from our wider catalogue. Each figure sells by itself. We keep shape notes brief, so the best test is to handle them.
Friedman beside Flohr
Clinicians often pair these two families. Some prefer one name for daily roots and the other for tight spots. Others mix figures from both until the tray feels right. Either way, there is no single correct split.
Questions to ask before you choose
- Which roots do you see most often?
- How much room do you usually have to reach them?
- Do you already own Flohr figures that cover some needs?
- Would one more Friedman figure fill a real gap?
Handling Friedman elevators
Seat the tip in the PDL space before any rotation. Then wedge and turn in short arcs while a finger rest holds you steady. Never treat a remaining tooth as the fulcrum. Also, spare the buccal plate when an implant will follow.
Care between cases
Rinse off debris right after use, before it dries. Next, look at the tip for chips or bends. A clean, sharp figure needs less force, so it is also safer.
Friedman supply and warranty
Each Friedman figure reaches us made to our specification, then gets a hand check here in the United States. Material choice: a stainless steel that fits ASTM F899. You get it non-sterile, and it returns to work after each cleaning and sterilizer cycle. Should any Friedman figure prove faulty, our cover runs to three years against manufacturing defects, with a fair, fast review. Next, view the complete elevator category, see the Flohr root elevators, or turn to our FAQ section.
