Description
Forceps Jar, Heavy Base
A busy bench is no place for a jar that tips. This heavy base forceps jar rests on a weighted, flared foot. So it stays upright when you lift a tool out or bump it by mistake.
What the Weighted Foot Does
Most of the mass sits low, in the base. The foot also flares out wider than the body. Together, these two points lower the center of gravity. As a result, a long forceps leaning on the rim will not pull the jar over.
Picking Between Two Heights
Two sizes are on offer. Both list height × diameter in inches.
- 4-7/16 × 2 in: the short one, for short forceps, probes or tweezers.
- 7-1/4 × 2 in: the tall one, for long transfer forceps.
In practice, pick the height that lets the working ends sit in the liquid while the grips stay dry. If you stand mixed tools, the taller jar covers both.
Where It Earns Its Place
A heavy base forceps jar suits a crowded cart, a mobile stand or a corner by the sink. Moreover, it helps on any surface where people reach past each other. Often, sites keep one jar per room for transfer forceps.
Keeping the Liquid Fresh
Follow the maker of your disinfectant for strength, contact time and change times. Then pour out, wash and dry the jar at each change. Also, never top up old liquid with new.
Ready to Use After Cleaning
Your jar arrives non-sterile. Wash it, then put it through your usual cycle. Because it is solid stainless, it is reusable for a long time.
Backed for Three Years
Our team writes the spec, and the jar gets a check in the United States before dispatch. For the metal, we follow ASTM F899. Each weighted jar carries a heavy-base promise: three years against manufacturing defects, short jar or tall. Compare it with the plain forceps jar in four sizes, or see the whole hollow ware section. Answers to usual queries live on our help page.
