Description
Forceps Jar
This stainless forceps jar stands transfer forceps and similar tools upright in a disinfectant bath. It is a tall, plain cylinder with no seams to trap dirt. As a result, it is quick to wipe, wash and dry.
Why a Tall Cylinder Helps
A stainless forceps jar this tall lets the jaws of the forceps sit deep in the liquid. Meanwhile, the handles rise above the rim, so staff can grab them without touching the bath. Because the base is flat, the jar sits square on a bench or tray.
Four Diameters and Heights
Each size reads diameter × height in mm. Choose by the length and number of tools you plan to stand in it.
- 25×80 mm: slim, for one short tool.
- 30×100 mm: a little taller, still for one or two items.
- 75×173 mm: for several mid-length forceps.
- 100×200 mm: the widest, for a bundle of long tools.
So, for one long forceps, a narrow jar wastes less liquid. For a group, take a wide one.
Filling and Changing the Solution
First, fill the jar to a level that covers the working ends. Then follow the label on your disinfectant for contact time and how often to change it. Also empty and wash the jar each time you refill it.
Cleaning the Jar Itself
The jar ships non-sterile. Scrub the inside with a soft brush, rinse well and dry. After that, it can go through your normal heat cycle and back into service again and again.
Our Promise on This Jar
We draw up the spec, and inspectors in the United States check each jar before it ships. The steel matches the type set out in ASTM F899 for surgical tools. Every forceps jar in this line carries three years against manufacturing defects, across each listed size. See our bowls, jars and trays for more. For a jar that resists tipping, look at the heavy base model. You can also read our common questions.
For trained staff only. Our cleaning guide and shipping notes cover the rest.
