Description
Extracting Forceps, Upper Incisors & Canines
These upper anterior extracting forceps cover the front of the maxilla, from the central incisors back to the canines. The page holds sixteen choices in English and American numbering, so you can pair each figure with the root you face.
Why the front upper pattern stays straight
Upper front teeth sit close to the line of the handle. For this reason, most figures here are straight. The beaks grip the root near the cervical area, so your wrist stays in a calm line.
When little crown is left
Some teeth break at the neck. In that case, deep-gripping upper anterior extracting forceps help, because their beaks reach further down the root. As a result, you grip sound root instead of weak enamel.
All sixteen figures by group
- English pattern, standard handle: Fig. 1, 2, 3 and 107 (upper canines)
- English pattern, deep-gripping: Fig. 34, 35, 35N
- English pattern, fitting handle: Fig. 1, 2, 3
- American pattern: Fig. 1, 13, 38, 65, 213, 286
English numbers follow European figure codes, while American numbers follow US habits. So an English Fig. 1 and an American Fig. 1 differ. Our fitting-handle trio swaps in a contoured, anatomical grip on an unchanged figure. Every figure is a single purchase.
Picking a figure for the case
First, name the tooth: central, lateral or canine. Next, judge root length and remaining crown. For a long canine root, Fig. 107 is a natural start. If your team counts in US numbers, choose from the American group instead.
Technique at the front of the arch
Place both beaks on root rather than crown. Then push them apically with firm, even pressure. Add small rotation and gentle labial and palatal movement as the socket allows. Finally, deliver the tooth along its easiest path.
Ordering, care and cover
Our drawings set each figure, and Atlanta-based staff look every piece over. Its stainless body satisfies ASTM F899. Packed non-sterile, it returns to work after cleaning and sterilization. Should a production fault ever show, you hold three years against manufacturing defects, front teeth or not. You can browse the whole extraction forceps range, or pair this page with our lower front forceps. Order questions have answers on our help page.
