Description
Extracting Forceps, Lower Incisors & Canines
Lower front teeth have narrow, flat roots that sit close together, so a slim beak matters. Our lower anterior extracting forceps come in English and American numbering. On each figure the beaks turn down at close to ninety degrees from the handles. As a result, you reach the lower arch from above with a relaxed wrist.
Reading the angle of a lower beak
That bend keeps the beaks in line with the long axis of the tooth from either side of the chair. First, seat both tips on root surface below the gum line, not on crown enamel. Then luxate with small labial and lingual moves. A canine root often accepts some rotation, while a flat incisor root usually does not.
Two numbering systems on one page
English pattern figures follow the European numbering many clinicians learned in school. American pattern figures use the US chart instead. The tooth group is the same for both; only the label and the shape details differ. Because each figure sells singly, you can mix both styles freely.
Every figure we stock for the lower front
- English pattern: Fig. 3, 4, 59L, 105, 106, 137
- Fitting handle (English): Fig. 4 with the anatomical grip
- American pattern: Fig. 14, 30S, 36, 37, 103, 201, 203, 288
Picking a figure for your hand and tray
Start with the number your hands already know. In many practices, one English figure plus the fitting-handle Fig. 4 covers the lower six. The fitting handle keeps the same beaks but adds a shaped grip that settles into the palm. By contrast, teams trained on US charts often choose the American numbers of these lower anterior extracting forceps.
Before you add it to the cart
Each piece follows our own drawing, and our staff in the United States give each piece a look prior to dispatch. The stainless steel body answers to ASTM F899. A fault from the factory falls inside our window of three years against manufacturing defects, and we will put it right. It arrives non-sterile, so clean and sterilize it first; then reuse it as often as your cases need. Sold to dental professionals only. See our guide to cleaning and sterilizing and our delivery details before you place an order.
