Description

Lower Molar Forceps, Either Side

These either side molar forceps let you remove lower molars on the left or the right with one instrument. Koehler luxation forceps share this family, so owners of that line will find this figure familiar.

Why one figure works on both sides

Upper molar forceps usually come in right and left pairs, because the buccal beak point has to fit the buccal trifurcation. In the lower arch, however, the two roots sit mesial and distal. As a result, a lower molar beak can grip the bifurcation from the buccal or the lingual. That is why either side molar forceps can serve both sides.

Fewer tools on the tray

One forceps in place of two means less to set out and less to reprocess. It also means fewer chances to grab the wrong side mid-case. For a busy clinic, that saves time. We supply it as one instrument.

Linking it to the Koehler series

The Koehler luxation forceps belong to the same series. In practice, many users loosen with a luxation figure and then finish with this molar forceps. Still, you can also use this one by itself on a sound tooth.

Thirty-second bench test

  • Close the handles and see that the beak tips meet evenly
  • Open and close a few times to feel for a stiff joint
  • Look for wear on the inner beak surface
  • Lubricate the hinge if the action feels rough

Seating on a lower molar

Seat both beaks apically on root, with the points aimed at the bifurcation. Then use firm buccal and lingual movement. Since lower bone is dense, take your time. Once the tooth shifts, lift it out in a buccal and upward path.

Buying and aftercare

We set its specification, and our United States crew performs the final check. Its stainless steel fits ASTM F899. You receive the forceps non-sterile, so wash and sterilize them before each use. A flaw from production is on us: this item keeps three years against manufacturing defects in its corner. Pair it with the Koehler luxation forceps, or scan the Intrace extraction range. Common queries sit in our FAQ section.
