Endodontic Spreaders
Endodontic spreaders are tapered hand instruments that press gutta-percha against the canal wall to make room for accessory cones. They are the core tool of cold lateral condensation. This page offers six versions, each one a named component from our supplier’s endodontic set list.
D11 and D11T
D11 is one of the best-known spreader names in endodontics, and D11T is its companion version. The catalogue lists both by name only, without printing tip size or taper. Therefore look at the photos to see how the two working ends compare. When your school or practice already used a D11, ordering the same name keeps the feel familiar.
Sizes 25 and 40, With or Without S
The other four options are 25, 25S, 40 and 40S. Many clinicians read such numbers as nominal sizes, although the catalogue does not confirm it. Likewise, it does not explain the S suffix. So treat 25S and 40S as distinct catalogue versions, and compare their photos with the plain 25 and 40 before choosing.
Matching a Spreader to Your Master Cone
Most clinicians choose a spreader that reaches close to working length beside the fitted master cone. First, try the spreader in the canal before obturation. Then note the depth it reaches, and use that as your target during condensation. Also keep a second size nearby, because the canal narrows as you add cones.
Construction and Cover
These spreaders are stainless steel conforming to ASTM F899. Before any spreader is boxed, our Georgia team sights along the shaft to confirm it runs true. Any spreader with a flaw in metal or workmanship is guaranteed for three years against manufacturing defects, while bending from heavy lateral force counts as use. They arrive non-sterile, so put each one through cleaning and sterilization first.
