Description
Elastic Module Twirl-On Instrument
Placing elastic modules can take time when you do a full arch. This elastic module instrument uses a twirl-on style to place modules over the bracket wings. It is a single item, with nothing to choose.
Why Elastic Modules Need Their Own Tool
Elastic modules hold the archwire in the bracket slot. You stretch each module over the bracket wings. So a tool built for that motion speeds up every archwire change.
Placing a Module
First, load a module onto the tip of the elastic module instrument. Then hook it under one bracket wing. Next, use the twirl-on motion to roll the module around the other wings. Finally, check that it sits fully in place.
Speeding Up Archwire Visits
Archwire changes make up a large share of visits. So saving a few seconds per bracket adds up across the day. In addition, a steady tool means fewer dropped modules and less waste.
Tips for a Smooth Routine
- Keep modules on a stick or tray close at hand.
- Work from one side of the arch to the other.
- Check each tooth before moving on.
Cleaning the Tip
Debris can build up on the tip. Therefore, wipe it during the visit if needed, and clean it fully after. Also check the tip for wear, because a worn tip may lose its grip on modules.
Twirl-On Tool Order Information
We set the spec, and our United States team looks at each one. For material, we specify a stainless alloy within ASTM F899. The instrument holds three years against manufacturing defects, and we sort out any factory flaw. It ships non-sterile, but a wash and a sterilizer cycle prepare it for each new case.
