Description
Falcon Elastomeric Ligature Placing Forceps
Placing modules is one of the most common chairside jobs. These Falcon elastomeric forceps help you stretch each module and slip it over the bracket wings. Every version has a groove, as the catalogue notes. You can pick from a longer 140 mm tool and three 120 mm versions.
Modules On, One Tooth at a Time
Elastic modules hold the archwire in the slot. First, you pick up a module with the forceps. Then you stretch it around the tie wings and let it go. A good grip matters, because a module that springs off costs time. The groove helps hold the module in place while you work.
Choosing a Length and Shape
- 140 mm: the longer Falcon version with groove.
- 120 mm, Standard: the basic 120 mm pattern with groove.
- Curved: the 120 mm, Curved version, handy at the back of the arch.
- 120 mm, Straight: a straight 120 mm version for a direct approach.
We sell each one singly. So a team can mix shapes to suit each person.
Speed at Archwire Changes
At a wire change, you may place twenty or more modules. As a result, a forceps that feels light and sure in the hand makes a real difference. Shorter tools often suit smaller hands, while the 140 mm gives more reach. Try one shape first, then add another if needed.
Keeping the Groove Clean
Bits of elastic can collect in the groove. So brush the tips after each patient, then rinse and dry them. Also, check that the tips still meet. These Falcon elastomeric forceps ship non-sterile, and you can sterilize and reuse them.
