Description
DIN Basket, Perforated Sides
This DIN basket with perforated sides suits clinics that run standard washer and sterilizer racks. Its frame uses straight, spot-welded wire, so the shape stays square under load. Meanwhile, the perforated or mesh sides let water and steam pass through.
What DIN sizing means for you
DIN sizes follow a common grid that many washers, racks and shelves share. So a basket in a DIN footprint tends to fit where other standard baskets go. Still, check your own rack before you order, since makes vary.
The welded frame
Straight wires joined by spot welds give the basket firm corners and a flat base. In turn, it sits level in the rack and stacks well. A flat base also keeps small items from rolling into a corner.
Ten sizes across four bases
All sizes are in mm. Choose the base for your rack, then the height for your load.
- 240 × 250 base, 50 / 60 / 70 high.
- 280 × 250 base, 50 / 60 / 70 / 100 high.
- 280 × 280 base, 60 / 70 high.
- 300 × 280 base, 60 high.
Loading for wash and steam
First, open hinged tools and lay them flat. Next, keep heavy items on the base and light ones on top. Avoid filling past the rim, because a packed load shades the inner layers. Finally, leave a little space at the sides so spray can reach in.
Lifecycle of the basket
The DIN basket with perforated sides comes non-sterile. Before use, run it through a full clean and steam cycle. From then on, it is reusable and can serve as both a wash and a sterilize carrier. Check the welds now and then for any cracks.
Every perforated-side DIN basket carries three years against manufacturing defects, spot-welded frame and side panels included. The stainless wire ties to ASTM F899 for surgical steel.
