Description
Dieffenbach Bulldog Clamp
The Dieffenbach bulldog clamp is a small serrefine-type clamp for temporary vessel occlusion. It comes with straight or curved jaws in four sizes, from 3 cm up to 6 cm.
Small and light
A serrefine-type clamp sits on a vessel with little bulk around it. So it keeps the field clear around fine vessels. Also, its small size suits delicate work.
Straight or curved
Straight versions sit squarely across a vessel. Meanwhile, curved versions follow a bend or reach around tissue. Pick the shape that matches your usual approach and the vessels you see most.
Sizes from 3 cm
Sizes run 3, 3.5, 5 and 6 cm. The 3 and 3.5 cm sizes suit the smallest vessels. However, the 5 and 6 cm Dieffenbach bulldog clamp sizes give more reach across wider vessels.
Where it fits
Vascular, plastic and microsurgery sets often carry serrefine-type clamps. Plus, cardiac teams may use them on small grafts. Then a larger bulldog handles bigger arteries.
Cleaning Dieffenbach bulldog clamp
Because these clamps are tiny, clean them in a mesh basket to avoid losses. Then rinse the jaws carefully and let them air dry. Count every clamp back into its tray after reprocessing.
