Description
Wickstrom Bronchus And Gall Duct Clamps
The Wickstrom clamp is a dissecting clamp for bronchus and gall duct work. Four lengths cover shallow to deep access.
Four lengths
We offer 20, 21, 23 and 24 cm. So you can pair sizes closely to the depth of each approach. Also, close steps between sizes help teams keep a preferred feel.
Uses in the chest
In lung resection, thoracic surgeons work this clamp around the bronchus. Then they can pass a ligature behind the freed structure. Plus, it helps separate tissue in the hilum.
Uses in the abdomen
In biliary surgery, the Wickstrom clamp works around the gall duct. Meanwhile, its longer sizes suit deep fields in larger patients. Because of that range, general sets carry it too.
Planning a set
Start with 21 and 23 cm for most adult lists. Alternatively, add 20 cm for shallow cases and 24 cm for the deepest. That spread keeps the right size within reach.
Cleaning Wickstrom clamp
Before cleaning, open the clamp so the jaw surfaces sit apart. Then scrub each jaw face and the hinge with a soft brush. Rinse, dry thoroughly and keep the jaws slightly open in storage.
