Description
Mixter Bronchus And Gall Duct Clamps
The Mixter bronchus clamp is a right-angle dissector that comes in eight lengths. Sizes run from 15 cm to 28 cm.
Eight lengths
Choose from 15, 15.5, 18, 19, 22, 23, 25 and 28 cm. So you can match reach closely to each approach. Also, the range spans shallow biliary work to deep thoracic cases.
A right-angle workhorse
Surgeons use the right-angle tip to dissect behind the bronchus, vessels and ducts. Then they pass a ligature around the freed structure. Because of that, the pattern appears on many sets.
Long sizes for deep work
The 25 and 28 cm sizes reach deep into a large chest. However, they can feel less nimble in shallow fields. In that case, choose a shorter Mixter bronchus clamp instead.
Building a range
Most departments do not need all eight sizes. Instead, pick two or three that match your common cases. Next, add long sizes if you perform many deep resections.
Cleaning Mixter bronchus clamp
Hold the clamp open while you brush the jaws and the inner bend. Next, flush the hinge with water from both sides. Finally, dry it completely and lay the longer sizes flat in a full-length tray.
