De Bakey Cotton Pliers, 15 cm

Description

De Bakey Cotton Pliers, 15 cm

These De Bakey cotton pliers give the dental assistant a slim, 15 cm grasping tool for the chairside tray. They carry cotton pellets, gauze, small matrix pieces and wedges into and out of the mouth. Because the De Bakey name is on the catalogue figure itself, offices that already know the pattern can reorder with confidence.

Fig. 1 and Its Two Siblings

Every option on this page is catalogue Fig. 1 at 15 cm. The plain Fig. 1 option is the first catalogue row. Then Style 2 and Style 3 are the second and third rows: the same figure on a different handle pattern that the catalogue does not describe. So the honest advice is to look at the three photos and choose the handle that suits your grip. In addition, keeping one style throughout a practice helps staff pick up any tray without adjusting.

Where a 15 cm Plier Works Best

At this length the plier reaches posterior teeth while the hand stays outside the lip line. For example, it lets you seat a cotton roll beside a lower molar without crowding the mirror. However, it remains short enough to sit flat in a standard cassette slot.

Daily Handling Tips

Open the beaks only as wide as the item needs, because overflexing tires the spring over time. Also wipe away bonding agent or cement before it sets on the tips. Then inspect the tip alignment after each sterilization cycle.

Steel, Checks and Cover

The plier is formed from stainless steel that meets ASTM F899. Someone on our US team squeezes and sights down every De Bakey plier before it ships. For three years against manufacturing defects, we will replace a plier whose metal or finish fails, though bent tips from misuse are not included. Delivery is in a non-sterile state, therefore wash and autoclave it before the first patient.

This plier is supplied for trained dental staff. Before use, read our reprocessing instructions, and check shipping times for your area.
