Description
Crown Spreader Elevator, Flat T-Handle
This crown spreader elevator has a flat T-handle and a wedge-type working end. It helps you spread and lift a crown or a bridge retainer for removal. Often you cut a slot first, then use the spreader to open and lift the restoration.
Prying a Crown Loose
The wedge goes into the slot. A gentle turn then spreads the slot and works the crown free. Because the force stays local, you keep control of each move. Take it in small steps rather than one hard twist.
Why a Flat T-Handle
The T-shape sits in the palm, so you can turn it with control. The flat profile also gives your thumb a clear sense of where the blade points. As a result, small turns stay small.
Steps for a Clean Removal
- Check the margins and plan where to cut.
- Cut a slot if the crown needs one.
- Seat the wedge and turn it a little at a time.
- Lift the crown once the cement lets go.
Also Useful as an Elevator
The same wedge can serve as an elevator. Seat it in the PDL space and use short wedging moves with a firm finger rest. However, keep to light force. Never lever against the next tooth unless it comes out too. In short, one crown spreader elevator can cover two jobs on a busy day.
Wiping Down the Wedge
Cement and debris stick to the blade. So scrub it while debris is fresh, then towel it dry before the autoclave. Check the edge for chips now and then.
When You Order
This spreader starts from our own specification and ends with a US quality check. It uses stainless steel chosen against ASTM F899. Delivery is non-sterile, so prep it in your unit before chairside use; repeat that cycle and the tool keeps working. Behind it sits our pledge to cover three years against manufacturing defects.
