Description

Implant Osteotomes, 160 and 175 mm

These implant osteotomes let a surgeon widen and condense an osteotomy by hand, one diameter at a time. The listing covers 36 versions, so you can build a matched sequence instead of buying a fixed kit. Each one is a stainless steel hand instrument meant to be tapped with a mallet or pressed by hand.

Flat, Concave or Pointed: Reading the Tip

The tip shape is the first choice. A Pointed tip starts or deepens a narrow site, because it concentrates force on a small area. A Flat tip pushes bone ahead of it evenly, so many clinicians use it to compact the floor of the site. A Concave tip cups bone and graft material at the end, which is why it is often picked for crestal sinus approaches. Compare the photos to see each profile clearly.

Six Diameters From 2.0 to 6.0 mm

Every tip style comes in 2.0, 2.7, 3.2, 4.2, 5.0 and 6.0 mm. In practice you work up the series, then stop at the size that suits the planned implant. Ordering the whole run of one tip style gives a complete stepped set.

  • Small steps: 2.0, 2.7 and 3.2 mm
  • Larger steps: 4.2, 5.0 and 6.0 mm

Choosing Between the 160 mm Straight and 175 mm Offset

The Straight versions measure 160 mm and suit anterior sites where the line of approach is direct. The Offset versions measure 175 mm and angle the working end away from the handle, so they help in posterior sites where the cheek and opposing teeth get in the way. Many practices therefore stock a few of each.

Steel, Inspection and Coverage

Each osteotome is checked in the United States before it leaves our Atlanta stock. We stand behind every diameter for three years against manufacturing defects, counted from the date of purchase. Because the osteotomes arrive non-sterile, wash and steam sterilize each diameter before its first case.

The stainless steel follows ASTM F899 for surgical instruments. Browse more osteotomes, add a Molt Mallet for controlled tapping, or read our FAQs.
