Chalazion and Mucocele Forceps
Small soft tissue lesions in the lip are awkward to excise while the tissue moves and bleeds. Chalazion forceps solve that problem by clamping around the area and holding it still. This pattern sits in the tissue forceps section of our supplier catalogue and is sold here for mucocele work as well.
How the Clamp Isolates a Lesion
The instrument closes around the lesion and presses the surrounding tissue. As a result, the operator gets a stable, everted field with less bleeding to clear. The clinician can then incise and dissect inside the clamped area with better visibility.
Reading the 90 mm, 12 mm and 23 mm Figures
The product listing gives three measurements: 90 mm, 12 mm and 23 mm. The catalogue page does not label each figure, so please study the photo to see the overall size and the working end. If you need a specific dimension confirmed, contact us before ordering.
Using It for a Lip Mucocele
First, position the clamp so the lesion sits fully within the working end. Next, tighten until the tissue blanches slightly, without crushing it. Then excise the mucocele within the clamped field, and release the clamp before suturing. Also, check the site for bleeding once pressure comes off.
Cleaning the Joint and Clamp
Blood and tissue can collect in the joint and closing parts. Therefore, open the forceps fully, brush every surface and dry them well before packing for sterilization.
Our United States staff inspect every pair of chalazion forceps for a secure, even closure. The clamp and its fittings are covered for three years against manufacturing defects in Intrace USA terms. No sterile packaging is used, which means a full wash and steam cycle must precede any lesion removal.
The forceps use stainless steel listed under ASTM F899 for surgical metals. Browse more in our oral surgery and implant instruments section, and mount the excision blade on a #3 scalpel handle. Ordering questions go to our FAQs.
