Bracket Removing Pliers
Debond day should feel calm for the patient. These bracket removing pliers help you lift metal brackets off the enamel at the end of treatment. So the hand does the work with a short squeeze, not a twist of the wrist. We offer four versions, and each one suits a slightly different reach.
A Tool for the Last Visit
Most of treatment is about moving teeth. At the end, however, the brackets have to come off cleanly. A bracket remover grips the bracket and breaks the bond with steady force. Then the bracket comes away, often in one piece. After that, you clean off the leftover resin with a separate tool.
Picking From Four Debond Versions
- Plastic Tip: the version the catalogue lists with a plastic tip. Check the photo to see its form.
- Standard: the basic pattern, and a sound first choice.
- Straight: a straight version for brackets you can reach head on.
- Angled: an angled version that helps when the approach is awkward, such as on back teeth.
We sell each version singly. So you can start with one and add another later.
A Steady Hand at Debond
First, seat the beaks squarely on the bracket. Then squeeze slowly and evenly. Also, support the jaw with your other hand, because a calm grip makes the visit easier. If a bracket resists, reset the beaks rather than force them.
Pairing Tools at the Chair
Brackets rarely leave the tooth fully clean. For this reason, many clinics keep two tools side by side: the remover and a plier for left-over adhesive. In addition, a straight and an angled set of bracket removing pliers saves time on a full arch.
After the Brackets Come Off
Wash resin off the beaks soon after use, before it hardens. Next, look at the tips and make sure they still close evenly. Straight from the box it is non-sterile; scrub it, sterilize it, then use it case after case.
Its stainless steel matches ASTM F899. Our own drawing sets the build, then a person in the United States looks over every piece. We back the plier with three years against manufacturing defects, starting when it reaches you. To finish your debond kit, see the adhesive removing plier or browse the full orthodontic plier range.
