Description

Application Guns

This bone graft application gun lets the surgeon load particulate graft away from the field and deposit it where the defect needs it. Instead of ferrying granules on a spoon, you fill the barrel, place the tip and press the plunger. As a result, less material falls on the flap or rolls into the mouth.

Reading the Two Numbers in Each Size

Every option carries a pair of figures, such as 3.5/4.5 mm. The first is the inner diameter of the bore. The second is the outer diameter of the tube. So the 2.5/3.5 mm gun has the narrowest channel, while the 6.0/7.0 mm gun moves the most graft per stroke. The 3.5/4.5 and 4.5/5.5 mm sizes sit between them.

Matching the Bore to the Site

A small bore suits a single osteotomy or a narrow socket, because the slim tube fits a tight opening. By contrast, a wide bore saves time when you pack a lateral sinus window or a large ridge defect. Many surgeons therefore keep one narrow and one wide gun on the tray. Also, coarse granules flow better through the larger channels.

170 mm or 18 cm

Each bore comes in two catalogue lengths, 170 mm and 18 cm. The supplier catalogue lists the 18 cm line as “straight / bend”. For that reason, please compare the product photos for tube shape before you order. In practice, the longer body adds reach toward posterior sites. Meanwhile, the 170 mm version feels a little more compact in the hand.

Steel, Inspection and Coverage

The gun is made of surgical stainless steel. Before shipping, our team checks every unit by hand in the United States. Each gun ships unsterilized, so the barrel and plunger need cleaning and sterilizing before any graft goes in. Barrel, tube and plunger are all covered for three years against manufacturing defects, whichever bore you pick.

Details of the steel specification sit in the ASTM F899 standard. Browse the full dental implant instruments range, mix graft beforehand in a bone mixing bowl, or read our FAQs for ordering help.
